Charitable Work

Autumn Charity Work 2019

During the Autumn term we worked extremely hard to raise money for people less fortunate than ourselves. We took part in Children In Need, donated items towards Smartmove Halifax, St Patrick's Mission and a Vulnerable Persons Shelter.  We sold Poppies in November and raised money for Prostate Cancer Research. In Advent we raised money for CAFOD World Gifts. In total the parents and children raised well over £2,500 in cash towards charities in addition to physical gifts of household goods and food.

Our Choir also sang Carols at two local Care Homes during Advent.

Just before the holidays we sent two very large cheques to the charities we supported during Lent.

CAFOD received £900 which is enough to support three Medical Outreach Teams for a year.

We also handed Bishop Marcus a cheque for £800 for Catholic Care, who provide support to vulnerable families in need throughout Yorkshire.

Soup and Bread Lunch

On Thursday 4th April 2019 our Year 5 & 6 children took part in a soup and bread lunch which raised £52.50 for our Lenten Charities.

Looks like they all enjoyed their tomato soup.

Lent Fayre

Our Year 6 pupils ran a very successful Lent Fayre on Thursday 28th March 2019 Raising a total of £506.66

A fantastic effort from everyone involved.

We sent a CAFOD collection box home with every child at the beginning of Lent. Some of these boxes, filled very generously with spare coins, have already been returned. We would be very grateful if the remainder could be returned to school before we finish for the Easter break on 12th April 2019. If you want to find out more about the ‘Give It Up’ Challenge this year there is lots of information on the CAFOD website.

A massive thank you and well done to all the children who turned up in their very colourful clothes for

Red Nose Day on the 15th March 2019 helping to raise £182.00 for Comic Relief.

Our choir and Year 6 children were singing and bag packing at Tesco on Tuesday 11th December 2019.

A huge thank you to them and the public for raising £667.27  for CAFOD.... Mobile Hospital Unit.

Our Raffle was a great success and we hope the winning children have been enjoying opening their windows each day since the 1st of December 2019. The raffle raised £136.89 altogether. This will be added to the money raised at our Tesco Bag Packing (£667) and will help to provide 3 Medical Outreach Units in a Developing Country. Thank you!
