Wellbeing and Mental Health
At St Mary's we want to do everything to ensure you feel supported, safe and loved.
We are proud to say we have the Calderdale Healthy School Bronze Award. This shows that our school has met all criteria of Focus on Mental Health, Physical Activity, Food and Nutrition and Emotional Wellbeing to provide a learning curriculum and environment that promotes health and wellbeing.
If you are finding things tricky either at home or at school you are always available to chat to any adult. We will listen to you and help you in any way we can.

We are very pleased to announce that we have been accepted onto Calderdale’s Mental Health Support Team (MHST) programme.
The three core functions of an MHST:
1. Delivering low intensity evidence-based interventions (mild to moderate MH problems)
2. Supporting the Mental health Lead (Mr Dyson and the SLT) to develop our whole school approach
3. Giving timely advice to school staff, liaising with external services to get the right support for your children and families so they can stay in education.

Beds, Bedding and PJ's
Bed poverty exists when a family doesn’t have the sleeping arrangements they need for their children due to a lack of financial resources for example. For children in this situation, it has a significant impact on their education.
Zarach’s mission to ensure that every child in England has a bed of their own gives them a greater chance to learn and succeed at school.
Please ask to speak to Mr Dyson if you want more information.
