History

The History curriculum at St. Mary’s is designed to give students the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and life experiences.

History is held in high regard at St. Mary’s, with the school’s local area having its own history.  The History curriculum at St. Mary’s makes use of the immediate and wider local area, enabling children to develop a deep understanding of the rich history of their locality.  

Over the course of EYFS, KS1, Lowers KS2 and Upper KS2, the curriculum is mapped out to build on the child’s knowledge and skills over their time at St. Mary’s. The curriculum is designed to be ambitious for all learners and to meet each child’s needs.
